As Art Director overseeing the Analytical Solutions Division at Bio-Techne, I strive to pave the way for our new video and animation style — showcasing kinetic typography and clean, bold layouts. Through ideation, concepting, storyboarding and agile collaboration within our in-house creative team (Creative Director, Sr. Motion Designer, Sr. 3D Designer & Graphic Designer), we crafted these scientific stories and authentically brought our brand to life in an expressive and tech-forward way.

Evergreen campaign visuals combined with strong messaging, promoting the Simple Plex automated immunoassay platform. This digital ad set needed to be readily available to quickly deploy ads on digital marketing channels (social, email, third party, etc). Eye-catching visuals capture the target audience, who perform ELISAs in their everyday research experiments.

Partnering closely with my Creative Director, together we collaborated and explored new, uncharted territory that this campaign could navigate to disrupt the status quo.

The MauriceFlex NPI campaign aims to disrupt the traditional fractionation market. Creating curiosity, interest, and ultimately adoption of a new, future-focused instrument that allows scientists to streamline therapeutic development workflows for icIEF, CE-SDS, and charge isoform fractionation. Saving scientists time and money from laborious and time-consuming methods, MauriceFlex adds flexibility without needing method development. Better data earlier in the process, with one instrument.

I enjoyed bringing the “Feeling of Freedom” concept to life for this campaign and how that dynamically translated through various executions.

As Art Director of our Analytical Solutions Division, our line of high-end scientific instruments is starting to evolve towards the Bio-Techne parent brand with each new product introduction. In close collaboration with my Creative Director, Sr. 3D Designer, and my team of Graphic Designers, I lead the product design evolution, as well as collaborate with Product Owners and Engineering — striving for them to explore new and tech-forward designs while balancing legacy brand considerations.

I had a critical role in orchestrating each photo shoot — from planning, location scouting, volunteer management, sourcing props and lab space, through day-of art direction of scenes with photographers. I collaborated with another Art Director in the labs and Graphic Designer in the corporate space.

To establish a new brand element for Digi International, I collaboratively concepted and developed Digi Data Streams.

They are a flexible design element that can adapt to any setting, just like Digi’s IoT connectivity solutions. By representing the constant flow of data out in the world in white, the green and blue data streams then highlight and showcase Digi’s technology, while simultaneously illustrating complex IoT applications. Ultimately, driving consistent brand photography across Digi’s broad ecosystem of connectivity solutions.

5G, the next generation of cellular technology, is innovating the industry. After collaborating with subject-matter experts to execute technical diagrams, I evolved the data streams brand element further to visually tell the story in a more expressive way and to better differentiate Digi International from their competitors.

By developing this standards page, it also strategically paved the way for an entire meganav restructure. Previously only categorized by a select number of industries, now Digi is better positioned to showcase their thought leadership across a multitude of applications and technology solutions.

Digi IoT Solutions

Quick-turn, financial promotion for Dentsply Sirona’s equipment and technology offerings. Omni-channel marketing campaign included retargeting ads, web, email and print components.

In collaboration with Star, my creative team and Express Image, I designed environmental graphics, infographic patterns, as well as the user interface of the interactive digital experience on 60-inch touchscreen displays.

National Repair Center identity refresh, including creation of iconography, patterns, print advertising, brochure and box packaging design.

Private label product awareness campaign initiated to boost sales in trade magazines. Photoshoot required detailed front-end coordination and extensive template prep for 2 full days of meticulous product placement — and some fun outtakes :)

While I was Associate Graphic Designer at Meet Minneapolis, I wore many fun and decorated hats (including brand police, email designer, event photographer, car wrap extraordinaire, etc.) and had the opportunity to impact practically every campaign we created!
